Scholarship Award Winners
In the Fall of 2012, The Crown Point Youth Baseball Ladies Auxillary, with the help of the CP Community Foundation, established
a new scholarship endowment fund.
Proceeds from our various fundraising efforts (Baseball Bash, Spirit Wear, etc.), along with a matching grant from the Foundation, made this possible. The scholarship is available to Crown Point resident graduates who participated in CP Little League/Youth Baseball for at least 3 years and through age 12 and averaged a minimum GPA of 2.75.
In addition, the applicants were required to submit an essay describing what being a part of the league has meant to them and the positive impact that a particular coach or player left with them. The community foundation received seven eligible applications from the 2013 graduating class. The applications were reviewed and scored by the community foundation's scholarship committee.
On May 16, the Crown Point Community Foundation held its Scholarship Awards night at Crown Point High School. CPYB Ladies Auxillary awarded two $500 scholarships that night. Congratulations to Class of 2013's David Kepshire and Kevin Edgington! David will be attending Indiana University and Kevin will be attending Ball State University this fall.
We truly wish them well in their future endeavors.
